Healthcare Senior Advisor Gail Marcus Speaks at Harvard Medical School

E.L.I. Senior Advisor Gail Marcus participated on June 22 in the 2016 Harvard Medical School program on Precision Medicine led by renown expert, Dr. Zak Kohane. As part of a panel discussing “What is Driving Precision Medicine,” Ms. Marcus was able to bring a unique perspective as both a diagnostic lab and healthcare leader, and as a breast cancer survivor and precision medicine consumer. She described the challenges faced by consumers in navigating the multitude of options available to patients today. Marcus advocated for diagnostic companies to collaborate with health insurers to ensure that the financial implications of testing and treatment alternatives are clearly communicated to patients.
